What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being. The term "Reiki" comes from two Japanese words: Rei (universal or spiritual) and Ki (life energy). Practitioners use gentle touch or hover their hands over the body to channel energy, aiming to balance the client’s energy flow, clear blockages, and support physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. It’s based on the idea that a universal life force flows through all living beings, and disruptions in this flow can lead to imbalance or illness.
Key aspects of Reiki include:
Non-invasive: Performed with light touch or no contact, typically in a calm setting.
Holistic: Addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects, often complementing other therapies.
Session structure: Clients lie down or sit, remaining fully clothed, while the practitioner places hands in specific positions to facilitate energy flow. Sessions last 30–90 minutes.
Benefits: May reduce stress, anxiety, and pain, improve sleep, and enhance emotional clarity.
What are chakras?
What are chakras?
Chakras are energy centers within the body, that influence physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. There are seven major chakras aligned along the spine, each associated with specific functions and emotions. Balancing these energy centers through practices like meditation and energy healing is to promote overall health and harmony.
Key Aspects of Chakras:
Energy Centers:
Chakras are energy centers in the body. The word "chakra" means "wheel" or "disk" in Sanskrit, referring to spinning energy points that regulate the flow of life force (prana or ki) through the body.
Seven Major Chakras:
Root (Muladhara), Sacral (Svadhisthana), Solar Plexus (Manipura), Heart (Anahata), Throat (Vishuddha), Third Eye (Ajna), and Crown (Sahasrara) chakras.
Location and Function:
Each chakra is associated with a particular area of the body and specific aspects of life. For example, the Root chakra at the base of the spine is linked to grounding and security, while the Crown chakra at the top of the head connects to higher consciousness and spirituality.
Balancing and Healing:
Practices like energy healing, yoga, meditation, and mindful living help balance and harmonize the chakras, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
